The big question after last week’s trade was, am I going to call it quits after obtaining the Jack Daniel’s Coy Hill? Well, the answer was, let’s keep it rolling along!

As soon as I had the Coy Hill in my possession, the offers began to flood my inbox. I must have sifted through well over 50 in the first couple hours. I also began to realize this next trade wasn’t going to be like the others. The offer that stood out the most to me was the one I went with. It was only after plenty of questions where I asked on my part: “are you sure?” To which the response was, “absolutely, this is something I’ve wanted since it came out.” Sometimes you get an offer you can’t refuse 🤌🏽 So here you go:

Jack Daniel’s Coy Hill was traded for: 1792 Single Barrel SP, 1792 Full Proof SP, Yellowstone SiB SP, Heaven Hill 7yr BiB and a 2006 Wild Turkey 101 8 Year.

My inventory doubled to 10 bottles which stemmed from a simple 15 dollar JTS Brown. Safe to call it a collection now and time to re-focus as to where I want to call this.

⬆️ TRADE-UP TUESDAY ⬆️

So I’m a day late on the Trade-Up Tuesday post as I had a pretty full day yesterday. Let’s get down to it!

I began accumulating more than just big bottles as I had originally set out for and somehow began collecting a small inventory of everything. This is still impressive to me how a JTS Brown started this entire project and it’s still going quite strong.

Last week you saw a couple trades that landed me a few bigger bottles. So let’s see what those bottles fetched this week:

Old Fitzgerald 11 Year traded for Jack Daniel’s Coy Hill

Henry McKenna 10 Year BiB traded for Old Overholt Rye 11 Year

This Trade-Up project really took off, but it’s starting to wind down. Only a few more trades to announce in the coming weeks. Are you still following along?

Overall: What’s the saying? Less is more? That’s the approach to this super sleek minimalistic bottle design..but only the bottle design. A touch of elegance complete with one of the heavier toppers in the bourbon world. No need to include any more than the necessary information when there’s confidence in what’s in the bottle. The notes above speak for themselves but let me tell you, the nose is immediately inviting and followed by a completely smooth and flavorful palate rounded out by that high rye, viscous and long lasting finish.

I had the great opportunity to sit one-on-one with Johnathan Crocker on a video call and discuss the brand and what Frank August represents. The conversation flowed and to say I’m excited for what is to come, is such an understatement. While the name Frank August doesn’t represent a single person or a distillery resurgence, it does stand for the history of America as a whole. Think art, architecture, technology, history, music and a melting pot of different cultures. “Be Frank” - I urge you to give their website and Instagram page a look and a follow.
