Poured Neat in a Glencairn

Color: Medium Amber

Nose: Dark Cherry & Almonds. Touch of Honey

Palate: Peppery Spice, Baker's Chocolate, Sweet Caramel Corn

Finish: Bold, Medium to Long Linger

Overall: The High Rye Bourbon and the Wheated Bourbon are two completely different profiles. The High Rye exhibits more of the chocolaty and cherry notes and is met with more of that allspice towards the finish. The balance is very nice but I feel this one would certainly benefit with a little more resting time. The flavors are there but with a little added oak, this would rate higher. Don't get me wrong, I will definitely try this with my weekly Smoked Old Fashion as I'm a fan of those cherry and chocolate notes.
