Last week many of you thought the trade I made was a “trade-down” as opposed to the “trade-up” title of my project. Let me show you why sometimes it’s about the bigger picture and helping others along the way. I received an offer for the EHT Small Batch and Larceny BP that I just couldn’t pass up. While I’m always looking to get the bottles that bring a lot of attention from each trade, I’m also looking to make thing easy, so moving both bottles in the same transaction made my day. What was the return you ask? As you can see in the photo, the Library received a Bookers 2021-01, Four Roses SiB Barrel StrengthOBSK South Carolina Pick and a bottle of Buffalo Trace.

How do you feel about this week’s reveal? The trades start to get a little bit more advanced going forward as bottles start getting split up so there will be some paying attention to do.

Plenty of buzz around the OWA and Bowman Single Barrel. I decided to allow the bottles to be split up rather than be traded as a Lot. This opened many more doors and again I was looking at the bigger picture of this project. This also began to complicate things a little more with how I tracked each trade. Obviously manageable and still fun, this trade really started a string of trades that I had no idea would work out. But again, I’m getting too far ahead of myself.

The OWA was traded for an EH Taylor Small Batch.

The Bowman SiB was traded for a Larceny Barrel Proof B521.

Overall: First and foremost, the presentation of the package sent by Holladay Distilling was second to none! I appreciate the opportunity to give this a fair review.

Let's get to my overall impression here. This was a remarkable sipper. The flavors I mentioned above all fall in line with what I enjoy but it was actually the finish that won me over. Lingering warmth and packed with the sweet, yet spiced experience has me thinking I now need to find the perfect cigar to pair. At six years, I knew I'd be getting some delicious oak and I wasn't wrong. The perfect balance of sweet, tannic and spice. I'm looking forward to setting up a trip to get to Missouri and check out the distillery in person.
